Journal du Management Juridique n° 82 - Jun 2021
In 2020, the French authorities (Parquet national financier), the British authorities (Serious Fraud Office) and the American judicial authorities (U.S. Department of Justice) coordinated their actions in order to achieve the simultaneous signature of a Judicial Agreement in the Public Interest (CJIP) and two Deferred Prosecution Agreements (DPA) with Airbus for an amount of nearly 4 billion USD.**
In 2016, the Sapin 2 law was enacted to French law. Since then, twelve judicial public interest agreements (CJIP) have been signed for a total amount of more than €3 billion
In 2004, the use of the “Comparution sur reconnaissance préalable de culpabilité” (CRPC) also known as the "French-style guilty plea" was introduced in French law. It appeared to be a faster alternative to relieve the courts and to try executives who had entered into a CJIP.
